Hello My World and Beyond!
A friend of mine has encouraged me to start a blog. She knows that I love to write, and I love God. So most of what I will put on here will be what I call “devotions” for lack of a better word. They are things that God has shown me in my own life that I hope will help others. I will begin by trying to figure out how to post devotions which I have written over the past two years. From there, we will see where this endeavor will take me.
Bettye
In my not so humble opinion, this is a great way to share your heart. I receive a daily email of blogging advice–how to make money, etc., and I have decided that all I really want to do is to share my heart with those I care about. This is a non-threatening way to do it. We aren’t forcing anyone to read what we’ve written, but they know we’re out here if they’re interested.
For instance: I’ve read everything you’ve posted. I know it’s here, and when I need a pick-me-up, or a gentle visit with my friend Bettye, I can pop on over without worrying that I might be intruding.
Now, if I can manage to check my stats daily without feeling rejected when no one new has visited…well, that’s something to work on.
You have some real treasures here, and I thank you for posting them.
And, I thank you for all the encouragement you have given to me. Your words are like chicken soup for the soul. Or, I guess with my Southern background, I should say they are like pinto beans and cornbread for the soul!
good morning Bettye! I love your blog ! This is a great way to allow your friends to hear your heart. Just to read some of your blog this morning I can thank God that we were created in his image. You have a way with words. You have his way of expressing on paper. Its not just words on a screen, its his heart, his eyes and how he sees things being revealed through you. Thank you !
Thank you for your kind words, April. With the exception of my little travel story about New Orleans, God has laid everything I have posted on my heart before I ever put it in writing. Sometimes, it is as though He is writing through me. I don’t like to claim that I have heard from God because I know how some people think we shouldn’t claim that God speaks directly to us. But, I do think He speaks to us through His Word, and I think He plants His Word in our hearts to share with others.
I don’t always see your messages on Al’s machine, so I am responding with myoffice email. I’m glad you are using your writing skills. I can’t help but remember the Sunday afternoon you called and asked if you could go to church with us because you had been so guilting following the skating party the night before, and the fact that we had picked up Zack for S.S. You have been though so very much, and your writing just proves that God is and has been faithful. Keep pressing on, the reward is just around the “corner”. Blessings on you.
